Illegal aliens

They are referred to by many other terms by the Left, who have a nasty habit of changing the language to soften it and make it more suitable to their agenda. Illegal aliens are not migrants! Migrants come, they travel through an area and leave, they may even stay for a short while (six months or so) but they don’t cross the border illegally, stay in the country and freeload of it’s resources. Honestly, that sounds more like a parasite.
I’ve heard a lot of talk about birthright citizenship or anchor babies, which is what they were called before the Left changed terms on us again. Either way, they claim the 14th amendment gives them citizenship rights.
Yes, the 14th amendment, as worded, does give those born here citizenship, but that does not entitle the criminals (yes, all illegal aliens broke the law to get into the country and are therefore criminals) any citizenship rights. They should be deported.
They can choose to take their babies with them when they leave, either voluntarily or by force; or they can leave the baby, who is a citizen after all. Having a baby here does not make the parent a citizen!
Now if we look at this Biblically, we also see illegal immigration is wrong. Should we have compassion on the illegal aliens? Certainly! But what does that compassion look like? Does God, or His son, grant us the authority to forgive the sins of those who broke the law to get into this country?
I’ve heard a paraphrase of Deut 10:19 used as Christian justification for absolving illegal aliens of their sin and granting them citizenship. Deut 10:19 (ESV) says, “Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.” A sojourner is a traveler or a migrant. A migrant is one who comes to a certain region temporarily and then leaves, like a Canadian goose.
Here are some verses about breaking the law: 1 John 3:4, James 2:10, Romans 13:1-2, James 4:17, Romans 2:13, Matthew 7:12
And here are a few about borders.
Psalm 147:14 He makes peace in your borders…
Proverbs 22:28 Do not move the ancient landmark that your fathers set. (borders)
Acts 17:26 And he made from one man many nations to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling.
Proverbs 25:17 Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor’s house, lest he have his fill of you and hate you.
People tend to forget that God is a God of justice. He did ordain civil government in Genesis to provide order. In fact, there are more than a few verses about laws, justice and government. Another subject for another time.
